Coaching Registration
**PLEASE NOTE: The coaching discount will be applied when you register your player/players.
Volunteer coaches whether they be assistant or head should be aware of the following:
Risk Management: All coaches are required to complete risk management courses that include a background check, concussion training and SafeSport training. Once you complete registration you will complete this on your GotSport Account.
Coaches are required to attend a pre-season coaches meeting July 21 or July 23. These are required trainings for all coaches.
Coaches are expected to have at least 1 practice session per week. U6 and U8 practices can occur before games on game days, U10-U15 should practice at least 1 time during the week.
WNFC provides full season practice session for each age group that coaches can find under the player and coach development tab at www.westernnebraskafc.com. This resource can provide guidance to new coaches.
Before rec games start (July 28th-August 15th) it is permitted to practice twice a week, practices should be limited to 90 minutes, after games start coaches should plan on only practicing once a week.
Most WNFC rec games occur on Saturdays with the exception of U15 games which occur during the week. Middle School Girls played on Saturdays in 2025, but it is at coaches discrection. Typically Middle School Boys will play on Mondays or Tuesdays, depending on their MS Sports Schedule.
The end of the season tournament (The Panhandle Cup) does require that there be games during the week.
